Club Catch Up - Frenchville Sports Club

First established in 1948, located in Rockhampton, far north QLD, Frenchville Sports Club has a strong membership base and proud history of community support. Axis IQ caught up with Marketing & Promotions Manager Kaitlyn Graham to find out more.

What’s the Club’s number one focus for 2021?

Frenchville Sports Club’s ongoing focus is to provide great value and service in a relaxing, family friendly environment, while fostering continual growth in our region through the sustainable provision of sports, employment, grants and community events. Being able to contribute over $1 million to the CQ community each year is something we are proud to continue.

What’s been an effective tool in growing your membership?

The greatest tool in growing our membership data base is knowledge. We have spent quite a lot of time in building an understanding of our target audiences and implementing strategies to not only retain our current database, but also attract new members.


Do you have a marketing tip for our readers?

Know what your target audience want, what you are offering and where the opportunities lie within that gap is your greatest tool to succeed. The ability to diversify and head in an alternate direction is also important, particularly if the last 12 months has proven any-thing. Our Club was flipped on its head and completely rebranded as a take-away outlet during COVID-19 as we were lucky enough to still operate while most others in our industry closed. Since fully re-opening in July 2020 we’ve had some of the strongest days in the Club’s history and we attribute this to being able to transform into what our community needed us to be at that time.


How have you found working with Axis IQ so for?

The team at Axis IQ have been a dream to work with. We recently ordered custom ham bags for our guests which all management have agreed are a great little addition for Christmas. From ordering to delivery, I couldn’t fault the team. The stock arrived way ahead of schedule and the quality was beyond what I expected for the pricing. We look forward to continuing the relationship in the future.
