Spring/Summer Marketing Roadmap for your Club!

Your Spring/Summer Marketing Roadmap is here!

We've put together a few tips to make the most of the new year and get the best start to planning ahead for your venue...

We know that trade can traditionally drop off in February once the silly season is over but have a plan in place to bring people in.

Value offers - You probably already run a happy hour, a dining special or members only offers. REMIND YOUR CUSTOMERS and bring them back in!

Gaming promo - Always a good time of the year to kick off a gaming promo in your room.

Targeted campaigns - Do you have a loyalty program? Make sure you run some analysis of your database and target your highest value members with a special offer for a limited time to get them in.

Communicate, communicate, communicate

No point undertaking some serious promotion in your venue if you’re going to rely on just the people that attend your venue every day to support it. Get creative:

Paid social media campaigns to targeted audiences - Identify local ‘ínfluencers’ (offline and online) to help promote specific events to their captive audiences.

Create a Summer guide that you print and distribute around town - Go to your local caravan parks, accommodation providers, consider an unaddressed mail, whatever you do just get this material outside your venue to bring people in!

Tap into existing databases - Have a list of people who booked functions last year. They should have already been contacted to rebook again this year. If your events are family friendly, tap into existing networks in your area. Just about every town and district now has a kids/ family based website directory or social media group. Find where your audience hangs out and promote there.

Festive Frenzy & Summer Soirees

Embrace the holiday spirit and the Australian summer by curating a series of festive events and outdoor gatherings that cater to families, couples, and friends alike.

Group and Functions Menus - Create special holiday menus featuring seasonal dishes and drinks, catering to the hordes of people who will gather and celebrate over the holiday season - start promoting it early! Be mindful to create options that can be taken up by small groups in your regular F&B outlets, to larger custom events. Incentivise higher spend and bookings earlier in the week to increase revenue.

Ham and Christmas raffles - With all the doom and gloom news in 2023 around the increase in the cost of living we predict a popular Christmas raffle season! (Check out our ham raffle supplies on page 3 that can help you promote your events).

Family Fun Days - Families are looking for things to do with the kids. Designate specific days for family-focused activities such as face painting, kids' entertainment, and outdoor games.

New Year's Countdown - The options are endless for a NYE countdown event. From a high end set dinner option to a casual family friendly event with live music, activities like barefoot bowls and something to keep kids entertained.

Celebrate outdoors - Summer of cricket, barefoot bowls parties, outdoor movie nights - make the most of daylight saving and Summer nights with events that are celebrated outdoors.

The Everest and Melbourne Cup Extravaganza

Celebrate Spring Racing in your venue and tap into multiple opportunities for different demographics!

Luncheons and Ladies days - Spring Racing has the potential to appeal to more than just your regular punters. Consider a luncheon for these special events (always great to partner with an existing organisation or body to make for a successful day like a business women's networking group, school, etc).

Dress up - You can make your venue look the part and mark a sense of occasion with racing theming (think green displays, synthetic flowers, custom made standee displays, hanging mobiles to create a sense of fun).

Multi layered promos - Based on the theme, tailor promos across your venue to appeal to specific target markets e.g. tailor a promo for the serious punter with a prize that appeals to them in the TAB and sports bar, come up with an attractive cocktail special for a young female demographic.

Communicate - Segment your database to send the relevant promos and events to the right audiences. E.g. TAB promos should go to those you know who patronise this department via SMS, set up a targeted social media ad to females under 55 for your cocktail special.
